In early June, Renan Leite and Isabel Boavida attended the 8th IAHR Europe Congress that took place in LNEC, Lisbon, Portugal. Renan Leite presented the results from the EcoPeak4Fish project. He was also short listed among 24 other candidates for the IAHR Gerhard Jirka Award for Young Researchers đź‘Ź
This year conference was focused on Water – Across Boundaries, covering a wide range of topics, including aquifers, rivers, reservoirs and dams; estuarines, coasts and ports; urban water; numerical and experimental methods; climate change and risk mitigation; and governance and water resources management.
Four distinguished keynote speakers addressed important topics at the event. Ana Maria Ferreira da Silva presented on “River bars and meanders: from the lab to the real world”. Anastasios I. Stamou spoke about “Climate proof water infrastructure”. Íñigo J. Losada RodrĂguez discussed the “Challenges in coastal climate change adaptation”. Finally, Jean-Luc Bertrand-Krajewski addressed “Challenges and needs to quickly move toward really integrated urban stormwater management”
